On Your Own: Patches

Below is a list of patches girls can work on their own to earn. They are perfect for working together on as a family.

Monthly Fun Patch

Offered by Girl Scouts of Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) these patches can be completed any time of the year. We have selected patches we thought would be a good fit for each month.

Gabby’s Dollhouse

GSUSA for the last couple of years has partnered with recently released movies that have qualities that resonate with the Girl Scout Law. Girls who complete the tie in movie challenges can earn a special patch!

The most recent partnership is with the Gabby’s Dollhouse movie. Girls can complete the packet while watching the movie to earn the patch while supplies last.

Girl Scout’s Love the Outdoors Challenge

Celebrate summer! Girls can earn the Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge patch each year by finding new ways to enjoy the great outdoors. You don’t need to travel far. Complete activities in your neighborhood, at a local park, or at home using your imagination.

The challenge begins June 1st and ends with Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend in September (dates vary by council).

Complete at least 25 activities from the list to earn the patch.

Be Internet Awesome Family Challenge

The Be Internet Awesome Family Challenge from Google and Girl Scouts guides youth in using technology more intentionally, on their own and together as a family. Technology is a part of our everyday lives, and it is important to be mindful of how we use it. Whatever your age there are ways to boost your savvy and make your digital world a better place.

To earn this patch girls need to complete an activity for each of the five themes in the activity packet.

Girls can watch a recording to help them get started earning the patch. Remember to follow the guidelines for watching video recordings.

Flat Juliette

The Flat Juliette patch is inspired by Dale Hubert’s Flat Stanley project, also known as Flat Stacie, based on the book series of the same name.

Take Juliette on two adventures, and write a report on what you did together. Make sure to include a photo from the adventure as part of the report. Take Juliette camping, to the zoo, on vacation, or to see relatives.
